Combat
Blades, bows and spells, the four fighting styles, gear and food.
Guide › Combat
How a fight goes
Click a creature to attack it. You and it trade blows every 1.2 seconds until one of you falls or you walk away. Vitality is your hitpoints; eat food (click it in your backpack) to heal. Some creatures start the fight themselves, so mind where you walk.
Three ways to fight
- With a blade: Precision decides how often you hit, Power how hard, and Block how little the enemy's blows hurt.
- With a bow (Archery): from a distance, with arrows in your backpack. The bow decides how well and how far you shoot, the arrows how hard.
- With spells (Sorcery): each cast uses shards, and each spell hits for a fixed most: Gust (level 1, up to 2); Cinder (level 5, up to 4).
Fighting styles
A style decides which skill your blade's fighting trains:
- Controlled
- Xp split evenly — no level bonus
- Accurate
- +3 precision, xp to Precision
- Aggressive
- +3 power, xp to Power
- Defensive
- +3 block, xp to Block
Vitality always gets its share.
Gear
Armour takes the edge off every blow, and even a helmet and a shield make a first fight much fairer. Weapons of a metal ask for a Precision level, and armour for a Block level:
Bronze 1 · Iron 1 · Steel 5 · Blue 20 · Green 30 · Cyan 40
See weapons and armour in the wiki, and the NPCs for every creature's level.
