About Tale of Seven Crowns
A free medieval adventure for many, right in your browser.
What is it?
Tale of Seven Crowns is a fantasy role-playing game for many players at once. Everyone shares one persistent world of villages, port towns, castles, forests, marshes, mountains and caves, across rival kingdoms with a long history of their own.
- Free to play, at least for now.
- No download. It runs in your web browser, on a computer, a tablet or a phone.
- 20 skills to train, from forestry and forging to sorcery and larceny. See them all.
- 14 quests so far, with characters who talk back. The quest list.
- Open beta. New areas, quests and items arrive often: read the news.
Chop trees, mine ore, fish, cook, smelt and smith weapons and armour, fletch bows, brew and bake. Fight creatures with a blade, a bow or a spell. Trade with other players, chat, make friends, and climb the high scores.
Getting started
- Open the game and choose Create a character. Pick a name, a password (at least 4 characters) and how your character looks. Others see your name and looks, and the name cannot be changed later.
- You come to your senses on a beach, the wreck of your ship close by. Find the captain and talk to him: that is your first quest, and it shows you the way off the beach.
- Look in your quest list for what to do next, and open a skill in the Skills tab to see what it unlocks, level by level.
- Next time, press Play now and log in with your name and password. Your character is saved as you play.
How to play
Mouse and keyboard
- Left click
- Walk to a spot, or do the obvious thing: talk to a person, fight a creature, chop a tree, pick something up.
- Right click
- A menu of everything you can do with what is under the pointer: examine it, trade with a player, report one, and more.
- Arrow keys
- Turn and tilt the camera.
- Mouse wheel
- Zoom in and out.
- Enter
- Chat with other players.
- M
- The world map (or click the minimap).
- Esc
- Close a window, or stop using an item.
Touch screen
- Tap
- The same as a left click: walk, talk, fight, gather.
- Long press
- The menu of everything you can do, in the world and on items in your backpack, the bank or a shop.
- Drag a finger
- Turn and tilt the camera.
- Pinch
- Zoom in and out.
- The tabs
- Open your backpack, equipment, spells, quests, skills, friends and settings from the bottom of the screen; tap the open tab again to close it.
Items in your backpack work the same way: a click eats, wields or wears, and the menu has the rest, such as Use, which you then click on something else (a log on a fire, a hammer on an anvil). The run button under your hit points lets you run while your energy lasts.
Rules of fair play
- Be decent. No harassment, threats or offensive language towards other players.
- Play it yourself. No bots, macros or programs that play for you.
- No cheating. Don't abuse bugs: report them instead, so they can be fixed.
- Trade honestly. No scamming other players.
- Your own characters only. Don't use anyone else's character or share yours, and never ask another player for their password.
Characters that break the rules can be muted or banned.
Reporting
Right-click (or long-press) a player and choose Report. Pick a reason: offensive language, scamming, bot or macro, harassment, bug abuse and other, and say what happened. Their recent public chat goes with the report, so the staff can see it for themselves.
Found a bug? Open Settings in the game and choose Report a bug.
